IN THE REGION

Be it leisurely tours, easy, flat trails such as into the Karwendel valleys from Pertisau or challenging routes including summit experience – Rofan and Karwendel mountains with 500 kilometres of signposted and well-maintained hiking trails offer optimal conditions for your unforgettable hiking holiday.
The best way to enjoy an easy mountain experience is to make your way up to the starting point in comfort with the Rofan cable car and the Karwendel aerial cable car. The hiking options can also be wonderfully supplemented with a combined lake tour and boat trip.

The region is a member of the Tyrolean Mountainbike Specialists and a true paradise for cyclists and mountain bikers. 250 km an of officially approved cycling and mountain bike routes make for plenty of variety in the Rofan and Karwendel Mountains. Look forward to challenging and action-packed bike routes of all difficulty levels and more gentle bicycle trails along the lakeshore or into one of the romantically located side valleys. Currently 13 rental stations along Lake Achensee offer e-bikes for rent.

Golf

The region offers no less than two golf courses, with one located right here in Achenkirch and the second golf course in Pertisau.
The 9-hole course in Achenkirch on a scenic high plateau offers particular conditions for beginners. The excellent conditions for golfers by Lake Achensee are further emphasised by the perfectly maintained driving range which can be played on from both sides in Pertisau and the two golf simulators in the same village, which entice to practice also when the weather is bad.
Golf on a smaller scale can also be enjoyed by our guests on two minigolf courses in the region.

Family holidays

Lake Achensee offers a wide range of options for families and children. As a member of the Family Tirol Villages, the region even boasts an above-average range of leisure opportunities for families.
Many different attractions, such as the adventure park here in Achenkirch, the countless playgrounds in the region, the numerous family-friendly hikes and a program specially geared towards children and youth during the holidays ensure plenty of variety and adventures big and small by Lake Achensee.

ATOLL ACHENSEE

On the lakeshore in Maurach, Atoll Achensee delights as a modern leisure centre. In summer the south-east shore of Lake Achensee features play and sports areas as well as jetties for even more fun. Families can also look forward to the 6,500 m² large panoramic swimming facility with a 90-metre-long tube slide, outdoor pool with bubble loungers, children’s pool with water playground, family- and lap-pool. Wellness lovers from 18 years can enjoy the Penthouse-SPA with Infinity Pool, four saunas, steam bath and relaxation rooms. For fitness lovers there is the Lakeside-Gym with lake views and a rock-climbing gym with 180 m² climbing area.

WATERSPORTS

Lake Achensee – Tirol’s largest lake – is the perfect hub for all kinds of watersports. Sailors, surfers, kitesurfers, divers and sun worshippers who love to swim meet up here, because Lake Achen is not only one of the lakes with the best wind conditions in Austria, but also impresses with its clear water and excellent water quality. And the lakeshore can be accessed without restrictions at all points.
The bathing beaches of the region offer the necessary infrastructure for a wonderfully relaxing day by the lake with a breathtaking mountain panorama.
In all holiday resorts by Lake Achensee you’ll find sailing, surfing or kiting schools. And Lake Achen also does not stop at trend sports. The kiting school learn2kite, for example, offers lessons in Stand Up Paddleboarding.
